We plan to bring Jeremy to Zoo for quite some time. Especially when we see him so enjoy watching the Barney CD which showing all the animals and song . That why we could like to show him the real animals that appear in the Barney CD like : Rhino, Elephant, Giraffe, Zebra , Tiger & etc etc.
We went to the Zoo yesterday around 9:30am in the morning to avoid the hot sun . Guess what?? We feel like the whole Zoo was belong to us, yes… it’s only 6 of us in the Zoo apart from the worker … hahaha, Maybe is becos of Monday . It’s actually quite fun without so many visitor … opps… 🙂 A great trip to ZOO for all of us, myself haven been to ZOO for many many years ….

It’s been such a long time i didnt blog about Jeremy, i didnt post his photo too , heh heh heh … Do Miss Jeremy Boy ? Still as active and “noti” as before, lost abit of weight too . But now he gain back his appetite, started to eat alot and always ask for ‘mam-mam’ specially when he reach the fridge in the kitchen.

Damascus Countryside – Zabadani & Bludan

January 25, 2008
It’s was a short trip for us to visit countryside at Zabadani and Bludan, we plan it last minute and it’s also the last day we stay in Damascus. We spend around 4.5 hour at this countryside
( 1.5 hour drive (2 way). I m glad i able to have some site seeing and “jalan jalan” during the last day, especially during winter time, can see a snow capped mountains. This 2 places was attracted by its fresh air and beautiful scenery, Damascenes rush to this 2 places on hot summer days. The area has many hotels and restaurants, cafes and camping sites situated near the banks of the river.
Many Damascenes, however, prefer another nearby resort, Bludan, which spreads over the mountain overlooking Zabadani, at 1500 metres above sea-level, It is cooler here and the scenery is particularly impressive, especially at sunset. Here, too, plenty of hotels, restaurants and cafes cater to the needs of all visitors. Most notable among them is the Grand Hotel, with its spacious terrace that overlooks the entire Zabadani plain.

Even i was quite stress at the beginning of the stay at Syria, due too Jeremy and work stress, but at the end of the whole trip, i do enjoy it !!

After back to Damascus city from Zabadani and Bludan. I proceed my plan for last minute shopping, see anything else i can buy ……

Before i go Syria, i told my hubby, don’t need to change so many USD or Syrian pound , cos nothing for me to shop in Syria , i sure all Islamic things .. But you see la, i end up shopping and spend almost of my money .

This 2 places was a shopping heaven for tourist and local people.

The shoes there are really cheap, some more with handmade and leather. I bought 2 pairs for myself, the rest was a gift for my parents in law. I do bought a pair for my hubby, but the saiz was too small. ( i do feel bad about this), by just look at the photo, the most expensive shoes was Jeremy’s shoes, still too big, will keep for future . Seem Syria was winter time, can get alot of cheap and nice winter cloths , i bought 1 for Jeremy . I also get a Arabian Perfume, i actually like the bottle.

Realize the Red winter cloths i wear ?? i bought at Damascus too. We , most of my colleague bought a winter cloths there, cos some didn’t bring enuf winter cloths, i do bring enuf of winter cloths, but i just love this Red colour winter cloth . Another reason for me to get one, cos we try to claim it from company . hehehe . Hopefully the claim will be approve by HR.

Well… end of my story and journey of Damascus, Syria .

I will take a break and on leave on Monday, I had a short trip to Melaka with my PIL . Will like to spend more fun time with my hubby & Jeremy. Jeremy like animals, will bring him to Melaka Zoo. Blog again when i back next week.

Wishes You All Have A Nice Weekend . Already shopping and prepared for CNY ?? … not yet for me *-*

The Architectural & The Syrian Cuisine in Damascus

January 22, 2008
It’s was a new explore for me to visit Damascus , Syria . i think no matters is an old or modern country, there always have there own unique thing to share and explore.
Damascus was really an old and historical country, but we can also find some high rise and modern building at the Damascus City. Make it short, is always better to show photo … and very sorry i can’t recall back some of the Arabic name of the building, places or street, i can only know the name of my site project … 🙂

This are some of the modern building in the Damascus City .

An old residential houses and also busy street , can easily get taxi there.

Some very unique architectural along the pedestrian shopping area.

For sure alot of historical building and mosques .
1) Al Hamidieh – shopping heaven especially for Muslim.
2) Omayyad Mosque – ancient mosque.

Beside the architectural, i like to share The Syrian Cuisine with you here .Syrian food combines the sophistication of European cuisine with the excitement of eastern spices, and it is Syria’s culinary contributions that have been the greatest influence on modern Arabic cuisine.

Many traditional Syrian Cuisine are simple preparations based on grains, vegetables and fruits. Often the same ingredients are used over and over, in different ways, in each dish. Yogurt, cheese, cucumber, aubergines, chick peas, nuts, tomatoes, burghul and sesame (seeds, paste and oil) are harmoniously blended into numerous assorted medleys. Parsley and mint are used in vast quantities as are lemons, onions, garlic and olive oil. Pita bread is served with all meals for dipping. The Syrian cuisine is varied and rich, in view of the fertility of Syrian lands and the abundance of their crops which enable the cook to be a master and to diversify in his choice and talent in the preparation of fresh meals made of vegetables, legumes and meats.

The table is always full of food from one end to another ends. All kinds of salad will be serve before the main dishes. Cant recall back those arabic name of the food, some i cant even know how to pronouns .First time i try out the lamb testicle , well, i m not going to try again … eikkyak…. not nice at all for me, but for some of my malay colleagues , they like it so much . But i like the lentil soup and dip with the pita bread .

Never never miss the kebab there, it’s really nice and yummy !!

The Syrian table is always decorated with the various delicious pastries famous all over the world. Travelers do not miss to take with them on their leaving the country samples of these sweets to give them as presents to their dear friends and family members. These desserts are followed by fresh or dried fruits grown in Syrian fields. My boss bought us 3 box each of us of this Baklava.

Baklava or baklawa is a rich, sweet pastry featured in many cuisines of the former Ottoman countries. It is a pastry made of layers of phyllo dough filled with chopped walnuts or pistachios and sweetened with syrup or honey.

1) Can easily get fresh vege and fruits at the market .
2) All kinds of beans and nut in the market.

Just a simple write up about the Syrian Cuisine and some architectural building ‘s photo. Will surely share with you, the most happy time of mine in Syria – Visiting Countryside and Shopping .
