Cat City Holiday : Kuching (Day 1 – 24th October 2007)

Dear all, I’m Back from Kuching, the capital of Sarawak, Malaysia’s largest state, is simply unique. Could like to share with you about my vacation here.

Day 1 – 24th October 2007.

Flight at 9: 45am by Air Asia , arrived Kuching around 12:30pm , about 2 hour flight.
1) A “MU red devil” Air Asia flight .
2) We almost reach Sarawak .

We stay at Hotel Holiday Inn , just right at the town of Kuching City. Stay here for the first 2 days in Kuching. 2 rooms and 2 night cost about RM620.
After check in to the hotel, put our luggage , we straight rented a car (kancil) which we think is easy for us to travel around. It’s cost us RM100 per day for rented this car. Then we proceed for the Kuching City Tour.

The first thing we look forward was the food, cos we’re hungry, but too bad the shop and restaurants was close very early in Kuching. Here are the food we had for our lunch.
1) kolo dry kuah tiew
2) Mixed pork kuah tiew soup
3) Special tea-C and coffee latte.

Later we proceed our journey to Damai Beach and walk around the suite and resort at the Damai Beach , it’s such a relaxing and nice resort you can find here , it’s also under Holiday Inn. But the suite and the resort cost very expensive, staying one night at the Damai Beach Suite can cost up to RM800.

After beach walk, site seeing and taking some nice photo at the Damai beach, we continue our journey to Sarawak Cultural Village . Popularly known as the ‘Living Museum’, the Village is a showcase of a kaleidoscope of Sarawak’s cultures and traditions. On arrival, you will explore the 7 authentic replicas of ethnic houses. Chinese Farm House, Malay Stilted House, Melanau Tall House, Penan Hut as well as Longhouse of the Iban, Bidayuh and Orang Ulu.

After a long drive and site seeing, we looking forward for “makan” again, , on the way back to Kuching, we come across many seafood restaurant & we decided to try the seafood at this restaurant. All the food we makan here cost us RM80 only.

This is the first day of our trip to this Cat City – Kuching.
